The Inland Empire has some resources and protections to help residents and protect against evictions. Riverside and San Bernardino counties have both passed moratoriums on evictions that expire after the State of California ends its state of emergency. California has ended evictions due to non-payment of rent until June 30, 2021. The federal government also has an eviction moratorium that expires on March 31st, 2021.
- If you received a “Notice to Pay or Quit” and can pay 25% of backrent (from May 2020) by June 30th 2021, you are protected! You need to print & sign this declaration to share it with your landlord.
- If you are facing eviction and cannot pay, and think your representatives have let you down, please email your full name and city to email@example.com if you would like to be added to a list that we will share to them. If you choose, you can include your personal story.
- If you need legal assistance or if your landlord locks you out, removes personal property or shuts off utility services to evict a tenant, contact the Inland County Legal Services at 888-245-4257.
