In addition to our geographically-based branches, IE DSA has multiple member-led working groups that focus on specific issues. You can find each working group’s meetings and events on the main chapter calendar.

The Labor Committee builds working-class power by organizing alongside unions and workers fighting for better conditions, stronger contracts, and the right to organize. We support strikes, workplace organizing, and labor solidarity campaigns while connecting the broader socialist movement to struggles on the job. Workers, union members, and anyone interested in workplace organizing are encouraged to join.

The Political Education team organizes classes, reading groups, and discussions that help members understand socialist ideas and strategy. We connect theory with real organizing so members develop the knowledge and skills needed to build power and win lasting change. Members interested in learning, facilitating discussions, or helping develop educational programs are encouraged to participate.

The Red Rabbits Working Group focuses on the digital and physical safety of our chapter members and coalition partners. The group helps develop and maintain safety practices around digital security, protests, and public actions, while coordinating with other chapters and local organizations on trainings such as street medic and safety marshal preparation. Members interested in protest safety, digital security, or helping coordinate safety trainings are encouraged to get involved.

The Palestine Solidarity Working Group organizes campaigns, actions, and political education in support of Palestinian freedom and self-determination. We work with local coalitions, community organizations, and labor partners to build international solidarity and challenge U.S. complicity in occupation and apartheid. If you’re interested in global solidarity organizing, coalition work, or political education, we encourage you to join the team.

The Electoral Committee works to elect democratic socialists and advance working-class policies at the local and state level. The committee recruits and supports candidates, organizes volunteers, and runs field campaigns that build long-term socialist power. Whether you’re interested in canvassing, campaign strategy, or candidate recruitment, there are many ways to plug in.

The Socialist Media Team manages the chapter’s communications and digital presence. We create graphics, videos, social media posts, and messaging that amplify campaigns and bring socialist ideas to a wider audience. Writers, designers, photographers, video editors, and anyone interested in communications or media are encouraged to join.

The Immigrant Justice group organizes in solidarity with immigrant communities fighting for dignity, safety, and full rights. We work with local partners to oppose deportations, detention, and family separation while supporting campaigns that defend immigrant workers and families. Members interested in community organizing, coalition building, and immigrant rights advocacy are encouraged to get involved.

The Outreach Committee helps grow the chapter by connecting with new members and the broader community. The group organizes tabling, public events, and recruitment efforts while helping create welcoming spaces for people new to socialist organizing. If you enjoy meeting people, building relationships, and helping expand the movement, this is a great place to get involved.
